Chipping Sodbury Town Res
Chipping Sodbury Town FC has a footballing heritage dating back to 1885. The club’s early years saw frequent movement between local leagues and periods of friendly fixtures, before withdrawing from the Western League in 1953. After a six‑year absence, the modern club was re‑formed in 1959, entering senior and youth sides into local competitions and beginning a steady climb through the Bristol & District League. Through the 1970s, 80s and 90s, the Sods experienced promotions, relegations, and major milestones — including the construction of their clubhouse and changing rooms, the rebirth of the Reserves, and success in the Bristol Premier Combination, where they won the League Cup in 1992–93 and later earned promotion to the Premier Division. The 2000s brought further restructuring, new management, and multiple team promotions, culminating in the First Team winning the Premier Combination League in 2007–08. The 2010s marked a significant rise: promotion to the Western League, a Division One title, FA Vase and FA Cup runs, and the revival of women’s football with a successful new team.
