Hallen A

Hallen AFC began life in 1949 as Lawrence Weston Athletic, playing in the Bristol & District League before progressing to the Avon (later Bristol) Premier Combination. In 1979 the club relocated to Hallen to meet ground‑grading requirements and became Lawrence Weston Hallen. They moved into the Gloucestershire County League in 1982, finishing runners‑up in 1987–88 and winning the league in 1988–89. A Gloucestershire Challenge Trophy win followed in 1989–90, and after another league and trophy double in 1992–93, the club adopted the name Hallen AFC and joined the Hellenic League, reaching its Premier Division by 1997. A switch to the Western League in 2000 saw Hallen drop into Division One, but they quickly returned to form, becoming champions in 2003–04. They added the Les Phillips Cup in 2009–10 and another Gloucestershire Challenge Trophy in 2013–14. The club later returned to the Hellenic League Premier Division in 2020–21, but were relegated the following season. In 2024–25, Hallen won the Western League Division One title, earning promotion back to the Hellenic League Premier Division and marking another strong chapter in their long history.
